Live For Lily – 2016 Butterfly Ball

Thank you to everyone who attended and our inaugural LIVE for LILY Butterfly Ball at Flemington Racecourse. It truly was an amazing night and the vibe, atmosphere and warmth from everyone in the Peak Room at Flemington was incredible.

Sianne and Lily would have been so, so proud.

Jo Stanley did an amazing job as MC with so much to get through on the night. Starting with a fantastic performance from Team Adrenaline Acrobatics, followed by a beautiful and heart felt speech from Aaron, who gave us all an insight of what it’s like as a parent, the moment you are told “your child has cancer” so that, in his own words, we can all hate cancer as much as he does. Truly inspirational words.

We then got to hear from representatives of the Children’s Cancer Institute, who shared with us information about their new Zero Childhood Cancer Program, and the hope that this program is going to bring to so many children and families around Australia. Along with this, we presented a cheque for $50,000 to the Children’s Cancer Institute, the first of what we hope will be many significant donations the foundation will make into childhood cancer research in the years ahead.

Then there was the amazing food and Veuve champagne and capped off with some very cool tunes by Full Circle which had the dance floor rocking!

And in between all of this, we had the silent auction and raffle running and Live Auction conducted by Nelson Alexander, which had to be seen to be believed. The generosity that was shown by everyone when it came time to dig deep to raise money for Children’s Cancer Research was overwhelming, and we are pleased to announce that, thanks to you all, we smashed our target and our first Butterfly Ball raised a grand total of $110,775.90.

Photos from the evening are below so feel free to check them out.  Big thanks to Adam Elwood for donating his time and taking the pics from the night.
